This How To Use is rather brief because of the simple nature of ULTRA • LABEL. We suggest you print this document for easy reference when using ULTRA • LABEL .
What will I need?
Hardware-wise a Mac OS Computer and a printer. For software you will need Claris Filemaker and the template ULTRA • LABEL. Additionally, ULTRA • LABEL works with standard Avery diskette labels style 8196 for ink jet, 5196 for Laser or Compulabel style MLL-3120, which can be found at major stationary/office supply stores.
How do I start making labels?
You must first enter our access code to make your own labels. Without the access code you will only be able to print the preinstalled label records. After entering the code, ULTRA • LABEL gives you the choice of printing a label with text and pictures, or text with a border, simply by clicking on the appropriate diskette. This will create a record and take you to the next step of importing a graphic for either a picture or border. You can click on the button Import Pix or Import Border and a standard dialogue box will open giving you a list of your graphic files to choose from.
The Pix Import or Border Import screen gives you the choice to enter your text flush left or center.
After entering your text, click on Label Chooser. On this screen click on the Text Format Info button to get information on how to change your font, style, size, and color of your text.
Select Label Chooser again, this time picking which labels on the page you want to print.
To print a graphic from an existing ULTRA • LABEL record, select the button List-Sm (List-Small) and select one of the thumbnail picts. Click on Label Chooser to select the labels to print.
Printing Hints & Info
Printers are not the same. Experiment. Select Best for your quality choice and Text/Graphics for color matching if your printer has these options.
You will get a narrow white border surrounding the border that you printed. This is necessary for all labels on a sheet to print the same.
ULTRA • LABEL will print the center of a graphic when printing a border. On the Import Border screen click on Full Screen to view the print area of your imported graphic. The complete graphic will be stored in ULTRA • LABEL records, so it is advisable to make your border graphic only as large as needed. We suggest you make your border graphic 2.75” by 2.75”.
Additional Features
ULTRA • LABEL will make a list of all records entered. To access this list simply click on the List-SM button. You can also print a directory of your images in a number of ways based on the priorities you set with Directory Sort.
ULTRA • LABEL also provides a Search Screen.
You may use ULTRA • LABEL for an unlimited time, but with limited functionality. This shareware is only $20.00, much less then software advertised elsewhere.
